This time last year, Jemima walked across our graduation stage, tailoring certificate in hand, with her daughter right beside her — beaming with pride. It was a moment that moved everyone in the room.
Her daughter took the microphone and, with tears in her eyes, thanked her mother for her courage, her sacrifice, and for never giving up. She told us how Jemima had faced hardship after hardship but still chose to fight — for herself, and for her child.
That day, Jemima wasn’t just receiving a certificate. She was receiving her freedom. Her independence. Her second chance.
One year later, we are thrilled to share that Jemima is still thriving. With the tailoring skills she gained at BTRMU, she has built a small business, is supporting her family, and continues to be a role model to her daughter — and to so many other women in her community.
